Shannen Lynn
About Shannen...
Shannen Lynn is a professional singer and voice teacher. From a young age, Shannen knew that a life in the performing arts was her calling. Her parents filled their home with music, movies, and art, and took Shannen to see her first Broadway show at just five years old. Amazed by what she had seen, it wasn't long before Shannen found her way to the stage, making her debut at a local community theatre at 6 years old, in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! After that first experience of being on the stage, nothing could keep Shannen from performing! She began studying voice professionally at 12 years old with acclaimed voice teacher Justin Stoney of New York Vocal Coaching, and performed throughout elementary, middle and high school in local, regional, and school productions.
After graduating from high school, Shannen was accepted to Circle In The Square Theatre School, a performing arts conservatory in the heart of New York City's Theatre District, where she trained in singing, acting and dance. After her time at Circle, Shannen continued to live and perform in NYC, finding joy in receiving opportunities to sing at many legendary venues, such as Don't Tell Mama, Jazz At Kitano, Rockwood Music Hall, Birdland Jazz, and more. Wanting to complete her Bachelor's Degree, Shannen had the honor of being accepted to Berklee College of Music, pursuing a degree in Vocal Performance.
In 2021, Shannen discovered a passion for teaching, and has been teaching voice privately as well as for theatre workshops, theatre companies, and schools in New York and New Jersey. She finds so much joy in being a part of her student's musical journeys, and loves helping them to find confidence and inspiration through singing! Shannen's work as a teacher inspires her work as a singer, and she is so grateful for the opportunity to perform and educate!
